Watch This: Mythic Quest on Apple TV Plus

My new favorite video game themed TV show is out now on Apple TV Plus. Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet, a workplace comedy set in the video game industry, stole my heart in one episode.

I've been a longtime fan of the webseries The Guild, which ran for six seasons and followed a small group of gamers playing a MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role playing game). When The Guild ended, there was a hole in my nerdy heart. But after binging the entire first season of Mythic Quest in a few days, I think we've come across a great successor.

Mythic Quest, to me, carries on the torch from a show like The Guild. Both shows focus on a MMORPG, but follow gaming as it relates to their day. One of The Guild's seasons highlighted waiting in line for a new expansion while also dealing with issues within the group of guildmates. Mythic Quest focuses on problems stemming from a teenage streamer who has millions of followers to colleagues arguing about monetization features within their game.

If you have an Apple TV Plus subscription and enjoy gaming, I beg you to give this show a try. I adore the characters. It's a goofy show but really does a great job of relating to topics in online games these days. (Don't let your kiddos watch it, though. The show features mature language.)

Check out the show's trailer below.

Apple TV Plus describes Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet with the following: "Meet the team behind the biggest multiplayer video game of all time. But in a workplace focused on building worlds, molding heroes, and creating legends, the most hard-fought battles don't occur in the game — they happen in the office."
